2024 FDSME Steam Railway Weekend
Our Steam Railway Weekend is at the end of July on :
- Saturday 27th July 2024 and
- Sunday 28th July 2024
Please note that Fareham and District Society of Model Engineers (FDSME) have to reserve the right to cancel the event on one, or both days, due to adverse circumstances.
Location
Enter our postcode of PO15 5DZ into your sat-nav or look out for our “salmon-pink” coloured road signs around the Titchfield area in Fareham, Hampshire. These will direct you to our event site off Segensworth Road, that is between Cartwright Drive and Mill Lane near to the historic Titchfield Abbey.

Admission
Gates open from 10:30 to 17:00 hrs. on each day (last train rides at 16:30 hrs.).

Attractions
Tickets for riding the miniature railways, having a go on the garden railway, radio controlled boats and cars cost £TBA each. Tickets are available from the ticket office.
The site has card facilities for buying attraction tickets and refreshments, but cash will always be welcome.
Other attractions will be priced individually, such as face painting, and may be cash only.

Passenger carrying miniature railways
Take a ride on both our raised 5″ and the ground level 7¼” gauge tracks.
Radio Controlled Boats
Have a go steering one of our radio controlled boats on our top pond.
Mini-Offroad Driving Experience
Have a go driving one of our radio controlled 4×4 trucks within our Mini-Offroad Driving Experience attraction.
Garden Railway
Watch demonstrations of steam and electric 32mm gauge locomotives. You can also drive one of our small 32mm gauge locos around a special track.
Model engineering exhibition
Our FDSME members show the results of their time and effort. A chance to see both completed projects and works in progress and ask any questions you like.
Classic vehicles
Have a look around historic vehicles.
Bric-a-brac & Trash and Treasure
Spot a bargain ranging from a well used powertool through to a collection of badges, you can find it all in our bric-a-brac marquee or by our trash and treasure stall
Face painting
Unleash the inner tiger and get your face painted to match.
Raffle
Buy a ticket. You might just be lucky and go away with a prize!
Live music
Our live band will be playing at times throughout the day.
Refreshments
Different refreshments are available, including barbecue, cakes, drinks and ice creams
