Event Information
Fareham & District Society of Model Engineers will host the International Model Locomotive Efficiency Competition (IMLEC) in 2025 from Friday 20th June 2025 until Sunday 22nd June 2025. The society last hosted the event back in 2006 and we look forward to welcoming visitors and entrants for the 2025 competition.

Local Places of Interest
Built in the 13th century, Titchfield Abbey is a beautiful ruin steeped in history. Originally a monastery, it later served as a Tudor mansion where Shakespeare may have once performed. Stroll through the grounds and learn about the building’s intriguing history. Titchfield Abbey can be walked to from the FDSME site.
Titchfield Haven Nature Reserve
This coastal wetland reserve offers peaceful walks, birdwatching, and an escape into nature. With hides and viewing points, it’s ideal for spotting a variety of bird species and other wildlife.
Hill Head and Lee-on-Solent Beach
A pebble beach with lovely views across the Solent, great for a leisurely beach stroll. There’s a small café for refreshments and plenty of spots to sit and relax.
A stunning medieval castle built within a Roman fort, Portchester Castle offers panoramic views of the coast, fascinating history, and a walk around the historic walls. It’s one of the best-preserved Roman forts in Northern Europe.
This scenic walking and cycling trail follows a disused railway line and takes you through woodlands, fields, and the beautiful Hampshire countryside. Perfect for a leisurely stroll or bike ride.
